English text reader

Here's another little item that I made. It's actually not a big scene but a very small app that can help people in speaking English. You may know it already seeing the topic itself, don't you?

Actually, having no time for writing on the blog due to my exams but this was came into my mind also due to the exams only.

You know, all universities here use English as the official language for all the studies and exams. But all the students might not be much good at English, know? Even I'm not that good at it. haha.

During the study leave, we get into groups and discuss our lessons; the ones who are good at a certain thing, teaches others: likewise we share our knowledge so that all of us can face the exams well. But during those discussions, I heard some unusual words pronounced by my colleagues, specially those who are not much familiar with those words, pronounced them in funny ways actually incorrect but as they feel to read. Funny huh  :-D

I felt this is not good to be looking at and bullying them, but should do something to help them. So I asked them to use "Text to Speech" facility in Windows Operating systems. But some of them are unable to handle it too. So I made this app to make them easy. This has a little bit better interface than my previous one ( the previous app I made is the "Unhider" )

There's nothing BIG to be done. Just keep a copy of this app wherever you wish it to be on. Nothing to install. Just double click to open and click on "yes" when asking permission by user account controller. Then type down the word or the set of words you want to listen to, and click "OK" to make it pronounced. Then you can hear it being pronounced with the default voice of your computer.

** If you'r going to paste a paragraph in this, you have to get it to a single line before. Oherwise this would read out only the first of your paragraph.

If you want to adjust the speed of reading, here's the way.
First, go to Control Panel . As denoted by No. 1  in the following picture, select Large icons or Small icons .The Category view may make it a bit hard to find out. Then, as denoted by  No 2 , go to Speech Recognition.

Here's it as in Windows 8 .  As encircled on the following picture, you can go to "Text to Speech."

Now, you are at the required place, know?
You can change the computer's default voice from the drop down menu indicated by No 1. The slider below, indicated as No 2, is to adjust the speed of reading.

Check about the country of the voice when you select a language, because there are differences of pronouncing, with the difference of the countries the voices belong to.

You see the line between 1 & 2 on above picture? The line mentioning "You have selected Microsoft David Desktop -English (United States) as the ....." text. There, you can Type anything and click on Preview Voice several times changing the voice and speed until you find the voice and speed matching to your choice.

I guess, now you can understand what happens with my app too. See, my app is just like a shortcut to the above step, isn't it?  Well, actually what my app does is taking your text, putting it here and commanding to preview voice.

It may be a time taking thing for you to come to "Text to Speech" but my app will save your time being in between. So, now what you have to do is, select the voice and speed, and then simply click OK.

Right!!! now you know all the ins and outs about this app. Now you can use it simply.
Ok, now lets download ©PiReSoft®  TexT ReadeR  here .

If you wish to use this continuously for several times without closing, then you'd better get PiReSoft®  TexT ReadeR v2.0.1 here.

*******(When you go to these download links, you have to wait for 5 seconds. Then, a button to "Skip Ad >> " will appear on the top right corner. Click on it and you will be redirected to the correct download link)
